YELLOW CHAPTER PT. 3 BY SKYKID: OUT NOW
FOOTNOTES
Hi Friends.
So here we are, Yellow Chapter Pt. 3 (A.K.A. Footnotes). Initially, I wasn't sure when to put this chapter out (or if at all), but somehow, we got here and I couldn't be happier to share these songs with you... Again....
Allow me to clarify. For those who have known me for a while, I used to be part of a collective called IvyBlue. We released some small-scale projects and did some cool things while we were active but eventually the time came for us to bring the curtain down on that quietly. In that time, most things were taken offline and we've been figuring out what to do with the music from it since (especially as former management for that project were not helpful in letting us have our music back). In the middle of last year, as the main songwriter I got my rights to the songs back and with the blessing of the other guys (seeing as we have no plans to reform) I went about re-recording these songs with the wisdom of nearly 14 years playing them, albeit with some help.
At this time, I was still recovering from the crash and it's safe to say that unlike the original sessions, my voice was not in the greatest shape to record. So, like what happened for Heart- I brought in some voices who I thought would carry the songs well from different corners of the world. and give them some new life after all this time. From the illusions created in Forever December and the story of Simon (a fictionalized version of my 14-year-old self) to the joy of faith of Window In The Skies and the Godly-romantic surrender of I Promise, the six songs from the catalog have never sounded fresher or been more important in this journey. I'm proud to bring these songs back to you in this way.
To help bring these songs together, there are 2 new songs that were written to go alongside them. Even Flows and Forward are about beginnings of new seasons and how life moves forward despite the chaos of the storms that find us sometimes. In the last few years, there have been many storms that have come my way. But through my walk with Jesus and the wisdom of people around me, I've been able to navigate them to get to here. I hope these 2 new songs not only pair well with the songs of the past but inspire you in some way shape or form.
Footnotes is yours today but admittedly, this may not show up on streaming sites etc. for quite a while. So, it's available exclusively on physical mediums (CD and Vinyl) and through my website for streaming things. It'll pop up everywhere else eventually, but I simply didn't want to wait weeks upon weeks to share these songs with you and I felt a calling to just share these with you now, so here we are. Footnotes is yours. Part. 3 of the Yellow Chapter is here.
There's still a bit more of the Yellow Chapter to go (but we are nearing the end of this era of music). And yes, my voice is improving substantially (and there's a little more to me playing live again than the 3 benefit/club shows I'm doing in April) but more on all that stuff another day. For now, enjoy Footnotes and I'll chat to you soon.
Blessings and love.

(P.S. While I'm here, let me be human and honest with you for a minute- I am not smart with technology or social media. Tried to do the influencer thing a bit last year both on my own and with others- I'm going to be deadly honest; it got boring fast and I will be the first to tell you that I personally find the whole thing overwhelming and bad for my mental health and my faith. I am not an influencer, a robot, or a persona and trying to manage a million things at once in the online world, I just don't get it and it's not for me or my walk. Unfortunantely in this day and age, you have to be competent on at least something in the social media world to reach people now. I have a private FB for people close to me in my orbit, but for everyone else; outside of this website, the best place to follow me is on Instagram where at least some of my brain cells can function and be present online without the drama and chaos that comes with trying to be the it thing in the world and setting my brain on fire. I've put the link below for anyone who wants to follow along and join the journey. It's not perfect and pretty like most people on there doing things would like things to be but it's an honest look into my life, music, faith, and humanness as much as I'm willing to let you in. I'm not an 'influencer' by any means. I am still a human being with a life away from the digital world but if you want to follow me away from this site and the Email club on it, this is your best bet to Keep Up With the SKYKID. Oh dear... Reality TV references are starting to kick in. Right time to get off this thing before my brain cells go back to the 2010's and degenerate. See you round).
